This past Thursday evening, March 7th, Studio 212 Art Auction hosted a beautifully curated art VIP preview, located at the lovely Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty office in downtown Dallas.

The evening included wine, snacks and even champagne. And of course, the art was to die for.
Visual artist, Manuel Herrera had this to say about the evening. “Warm. It was so warm meeting all of the artists will to create art for this cause.” Of course the cause is to raise vital funds for West Dallas Community School.
Susan Overman, the Development Coordinator for WDCS states, “This event is art in its purest form. Pieces from so many talented local artists and importantly, the art of impacting children and changing the trajectory of their lives.
Every dollar raised goes towards scholarships for our students and the Dallas art community has certainly answered the call.”
The collection was a splendid variety of painting, photography and sculpture. Above, you’ll see Heart by plastic artist, Cheryl Tekstar Hodge, as well as The Onlookers by Gray Malin.
Below be stunned by Love Sweet Love, a diptych, by artist, Christi Meril. I was lucky to have Christi’s work installed right beside my hanging fiber sculpture, Instincts.
This VIP preview is a precursor to the main event! Studio 212 will auction the collection piece by piece on Wednesday, March 27th, from 6 - 10 PM, at Gilley’s Dallas - South Side Music Hall. And includes musical performance by Pat Green. To purchase tickets, visit HERE.
